17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Files Attempted Murder Charges Against Jacob Sifuentez


Brighton, CO -- The District Attorney’s Office announced today the filing of criminal charges against Jacob Sifuentez, 38, related to the shooting of a male victim near the 6200 block of East 62nd Avenue in Commerce City on August 1, 2026.

Sifuentez is charged with:

  • Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in the First Degree (F2) (3 Counts)
  • Assault in the First Degree (F3) (2 Counts)
  • Large-Capacity Magazine Prohibited During Crime (F6)
  • Crime of Violence (SE) (2 Counts)

Case number 2026CR002079 was filed in Adams County District Court. Sifuentez’s next court appearance is on August 25, 2026, at 9:00am in Division 8. 

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed offense(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
