Fresh Start Warrant Forgiveness

Relief for Outstanding Warrants

The 17th Judicial District will hold the next Fresh Start event virtually on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Boulder, Broomfield, Gilpin, and Jeffco counties will host corresponding events.

Which cases are eligible?

People with active warrants in Adams or Broomfield counties in the following categories will have an opportunity to potentially resolve their case without being arrested:

Eligible Charges

  • Low-level non-violent misdemeanors and traffic offenses
  • Probation violation warrants not listed below
  • Class 5 or 6 non-violent felonies
  • Possession Drug Felony 4 & Failure to Register

Not Eligible

  • Victims' Right Amendment cases or domestic violence
  • Possession of a weapon by a previous offender
  • Sex offenses
  • Class 1, 2, 3, or 4 felonies
  • Out of county warrants

Which organizations are part of Fresh Start?

The warrant forgiveness event is a partnership between the Adams County District Attorney's Office, the Court in the 17th Judicial District, the Public Defender's Office, the Adams County Sheriff's Office, the Broomfield Police Department, and the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.

About Criminal Justice Coordinating Council

The 17th Judicial District Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) serves as the designated independent advisory body within Adams County & Broomfield County to address systemic criminal justice issues informed by evidence-based practices and guided by outcome-driven decision-making.

Our mission is to provide an ongoing forum for top leaders from justice agencies, local government offices, and community partners to prioritize public safety and criminal justice reform in an effective and equitable way.

For those without computer or internet access to attend the virtual warrant forgiveness event, an in-person event will be hosted by the Adams County District Attorney's Office, the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, and the Adams County Health Department at the Irving Street Library, 7392 Irving Street, Westminster. This event will be held between 9:00am–1:00pm.
