Driver Responsibility & Insurance Verification Program (DRIVe)

Our new Proof of Insurance Program gives community members the opportunity to resolve their summons without needing to appear in court, promoting safer, insured driving while improving overall system efficiency.

We regularly review data to guide policies that support a safer community. In our 2026 review, we found that many traffic cases involve drivers who are unable to show proof of insurance at the time of a traffic stop. When drivers are properly insured, crash victims are more likely to receive financial assistance for losses. Strengthening insurance compliance ensures that drivers meet basic safety and financial responsibility requirements, ultimately making our roads safer for everyone.

To support this effort, we launched the Proof of Insurance Program, which allows eligible community members to resolve their cases outside of court—improving efficiencies while encouraging responsible, insured driving. As a community that relies heavily on driving, our safety depends on ensuring that everyone on the road is safe, licensed, and insured.

Proof of Insurance
Yes. The program is available to eligible participants regardless of the issuing state of the license.
We will process your submission as quickly as possible, but please note it may take up to two weeks for your summons to be entered into our system. As a result, there may be a short delay before we can begin verifying your information. Once verification is complete, you will receive a text message and an email confirming that your case has been closed and your court date has been vacated. Please note: the confirmation you received upon submitting your information is only a receipt of submission—it is not a notice of dismissal. If you did not receive a submission confirmation and believe you completed the process.
Call 303-271-6950 and leave a message describing the issue and someone from our team will get back to you.
