17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Files Second-Degree Murder Charge Against Kyli Ferguson and Joshua Miles


Brighton, CO —Today, the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is announcing the filing of charges against Joshua Miles, 29, and Kyli Ferguson, 28, for their alleged actions related to the death of an 85-year-old man in his home in unincorporated Adams County on December 28, 2021.

Miles’ and Ferguson’s charges include:
 
  • Murder in the Second Degree (F2) 
  • Assault in the First Degree—At-Risk Person (F2)
  • Aggravated Robbery (F3)
  • First-Degree Burglary (F3)
  • Theft—At-Risk Victim (F3)
  • Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft in the First Degree (F5)
  • Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (DM1)
  • Crime of Violence—Sentence Enhancer
  • Crime of Violence—Sentence Enhancer
 
Case numbers 2022CR52 and 2022CR58 were filed in Adams County District Court. Ferguson’s next scheduled court appearance will be on January 14, 2022, at 8:30am. Miles’ next scheduled court appearance will be on March 25, 2022, at 8:30am. 
  

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
