17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Files First-Degree Murder Charges Against Jeffrey Aschenbrenner


Brighton, CO —Today, the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is announcing the filing of charges against Jeffrey Aschenbrenner, 33, for the fatal shooting of his girlfriend near 128th Avenue and Piccadilly Road in Adams County on Saturday, November 27, 2021. The victim and her father were in her vehicle when the shooting occurred.
Aschenbrenner’s charges include:
 
  • Murder in the First Degree—After Deliberation (F1)
  • Murder in the First Degree—Extreme Indifference (F1)
  • Attempted Murder in the First Degree—Extreme Indifference (F2)
  • Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (F6)
 
Case number 2021CR003878 was filed in Adams County District Court. Aschenbrenner’s next scheduled court appearance is on December 27, 2021, at 1:30pm.   

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
