17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Charges Steven Sandoval for Alleged Bomb Threat in Adams County


February 11, 2026

Brighton, CO – The District Attorney’s Office announced today the filing of criminal charges against Steven Sandoval, 47, for allegedly calling in a bomb threat to the Adams County Courthouse in Brighton on February 4, 2026.  

Sandoval is charged with: 

  • False Report of Explosives, Weapons, or Harmful Substances (F5)
  • False Reporting of an Emergency (M1)
Case number 2026CR000411 was filed in Adams County District Court. Sandoval's next court appearance is on March 4, 2026, at 9:00am in Division V. 

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed offense(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
