17th Judicial District Attorney's Office Files Attempted Murder, Various Other Charges Against Matthew Curran

Brighton, CO – The District Attorney’s Office announced today the filing of Attempted Murder and various other charges against Matthew Curran, 30, related to a series of alleged violent acts that occurred in the Hyland Greens neighborhood in Westminster on August 31, 2025. 

Curran is charged with: 

  • First-Degree Attempted Murder (F2) (4 Counts)
  • Second-Degree Assault (F4)
  • Stalking (F5) (2 Counts)
  • Criminal Mischief (F6) (5 Counts)
  • Child Abuse (M2)
  • DUI (M)
  • Resisting Arrest (M2)
  • Crime of Violence (SE) (4 Counts)

Case number 2025CR002479 was filed in Adams County District Court. Curran's next court appearance is on September 8, 2025, at 1:30pm. 

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed offense(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
