17th Judicial District Attorney's Office Charges Parents for Allegedly Leaving Child in Median in Adams County


December 30, 2024

Brighton, CO —Today, the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is announcing the filing of charges against Christina Thurman, 33, and Jarvis Sims, 41, for allegedly leaving their baby in the median on Pecos Street in Adams County on December 25, 2024. 

Thurman and Sims are charged with:  
  • Child Abuse Knowingly/Recklessly No Injury (M2)
  • Reckless Endangerment (M2)
  • Violation of a Protection Order (M1) (Sims Only)
Case numbers 2024CR004003 and 2024CR004004 were filed in Adams County. Thurman and Sims' next court appearances are on December 30, 2024, at 1:30pm in Courtroom 5. 

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
