17th Judicial District Attorney's Office Files First-Degree Murder Charge Against Orest Schur

Brighton, CO —Today, the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is announcing the filing of a First-Degree Murder charge against Orest Schur, 27, related to a shooting that resulted in the death of one juvenile and injuries to another. The shooting occurred in Aurora on July 6, 2023.

Schur is charged with: 
  • First-Degree Murder (F1)
  • First-Degree Attempted Murder (F2)
Case number 2023CR002041 was filed in Adams County District Court. Schur's next court appearance is on July 13, 2023, at 8:30am in Courtroom M. 

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
