17th Judicial District Attorney's Office Files First Distribution of Fentanyl Resulting in Death Case

Brighton, CO —Today, the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is announcing the filing of a Distribution of Fentanyl Resulting in Death charge against Milo Gonzalez, 39, related to the death of a 24-year-old man in Aurora on February 3, 2023. This is the first time that the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office has filed a case with this charge since state law changed in 2022. 

Gonzalez is charged with: 
  • Distribution of a Controlled Substance--Fentanyl--Resulting in Death (DF1)
Case number 2023CR001676 was filed in Adams County District Court. Gonzalez's next court appearance is on July 6, 2023, at 1:30pm in Division R2. 

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
