17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Files First-Degree Murder Charge Against Tomas Perez-Gonzalez


Brighton, CO —Today, 17th Judicial District Attorney Brian Mason is announcing the filing of a Murder in the First Degree (F1) charge against Tomas Perez-Gonzalez, 32, for a homicide that occurred at the Primrose Motel on June 11, 2021, in Adams County.

The complaint filed by the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office states, Perez-Gonzalez unlawfully, feloniously, after deliberation, and with the intent to cause the death of a person other than himself, caused the death of the victim in this case; in violation of section 18-3-102(1)(a), C.R.S.

Tomas-Perez’s charges include:
  • Murder in the First Degree (F1) (June 11, 2021)
  • Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft in the Second Degree (F6) (June 11, 2021)
  • Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft in the First Degree (F5) (June 17, 2021)
  • Criminal Mischief (F6) (June 17, 2021)
The Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft in the First Degree and Criminal Mischief charges are related to the apprehension of Perez-Gonzalez on June 17, 2021.

Case number 2021CR001840was filed in Adams County District Court and was assigned to Division L. Perez-Gonzalez’s next scheduled court appearance is August 13, 2021, at 1:30pm. The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
