17th Judicial District Attorney's Office Charges Man in Broomfield for Kidnapping Juvenile Arby's Employee

Brighton, CO – The District Attorney’s Office announced today the filing of various charges against Jonathan Barker, 29, for allegedly kidnapping a 17-year-old female Arby’s employee at 8950 Metro Airport Avenue on September 13, 2025. Barker allegedly took the employee from the restaurant’s lobby, but fellow employees intervened, and Broomfield Police arrived on the scene.

Barker is charged with: 

  • Second-Degree Kidnapping (F4)
  • Second-Degree Assault (M1)
  • Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (DM1)

Case number 25CR288 was filed in Broomfield County District Court. Barker's next court appearance is on October 16, 2025, at 1:30pm in Broomfield County District Court.

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed offense(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
