17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Files Charges Against Juveniles Related to Alleged Robbery, Shooting

Brighton, CO – The District Attorney’s Office announced today the filing of charges against two juveniles related to an alleged robbery and shooting that occurred on March 11, 2025, along the 7600 Block of Navajo Street. A Mapleton School building was struck as a result of the shooting, but no one was injured. 

Lourease Wilson (16-years-old) is charged with:  

  • First-Degree Attempted Murder (F2)
  • Aggravated Robbery (F3)
  • Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile (M2)
  • Crime of Violence (Sentence Enhancer)
Second Juvenile: 
  • Aggravated Robbery (F3)

Wilson's case was filed in Adams County District Court. The Second Juvenile's case was filed in Adams County Juvenile Court. Due to the second juvenile’s age and the level of offense, no additional details regarding the juvenile or the specifics of the incident can be released at this time. 

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed offense(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
