17th Judicial District Attorney's Office Files Attempted Murder Charge Against Robert Trujillo

Brighton, CO —Today, the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is announcing the filing of an Attempted Murder charge against Robert Trujillo, 49, related to his alleged actions when Brighton Police Officers attempted to contact him on a felony warrant near North 19th Avenue and Overland Drive on August 16, 2023. A Brighton Police Officer was injured as a result of the incident. 

Trujillo is charged with:  
  • 2nd-Degree Attempted Murder (F3)
  • 1st-Degree Assault (F3)
  • Vehicular Eluding (F4)
  • 2nd-Degree Assault (F4)
  • Criminal Mischief (F5)
Case number 2023CR002544 was filed in Adams County District Court. Trujillo's next court appearance is on August 25, 2023, at 8:30am. 

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
