17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Files Sexual Exploitation of a Child Charge Against Former Adams County Teacher

Brighton, CO —Today, the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is announcing the filing of a Sexual Exploitation of a Child charge against Christopher Sergeeff, 43. Sergeeff is accused of possessing child pornography between May 31, 2022, and November 17, 2022. Sergeeff was a teacher at Quist Middle School in Thornton (2019), Stargate Charter School in Thornton (2016-2018), and The Studio School in Northglenn (2019-2022). The Thornton Police Department is leading the investigation of this case. 

Sergeeff's charges include:
  • Sexual Exploitation of a Child (F5)
  • Invasion of Privacy for Sexual Gratification (F6)
Case number 2022CR3490 was filed in Adams County District Court. Sergeeff's next court appearance will be on January 12, 2023, at 10:30am. 

The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s) under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo RPC 3.6.
