Victim Witness Services uses a team approach to support and serve victims of crime. Volunteers are a part of this team, working in a unique role to support, assist and provide information primarily for victims of domestic violence crimes. Prospective volunteers will be provided forty hours of initial training, as well as on-going training opportunities. Initial training takes place in the evening hours and on a few Saturdays over a six to eight week period. While no experience necessary, a time commitment of at least four hours per week for a six month period is requested. Volunteer service opportunities are available during normal office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. With the exception of training events, there are no weekends or evenings required. For more information about volunteer advocate opportunities with the District Attorney’s Office, please call Victim Witness Services at 303 659-7735 or email us at VictimWitness17@da17.state.co.us.
